FAQ

eSIM compatibility questions

How do I know if my phone supports eSIM?

Open your settings and look for an "Add eSIM" or "Add Cellular Plan" option, or find your model in the compatible devices list above. Most flagship phones released since 2018 include eSIM.

Does my phone need to be unlocked?

Yes. Your device must be carrier-unlocked to install a third-party travel eSIM. If you bought it on contract, ask your carrier to unlock it first.

Can I use an eSIM and my physical SIM at the same time?

On most modern phones, yes. Dual-SIM keeps your home number on the physical SIM for calls and texts while the travel eSIM handles data.

Will a travel eSIM give me a local phone number?

Travel eSIMs are usually data-only. Keep your home SIM active for SMS, and use apps like WhatsApp over data for calls and messages.

Do tablets and laptops support eSIM?

Many cellular iPads and some Windows laptops do. Check Settings → Cellular on iPad, or Settings → Network & Internet → Cellular on Windows.

When should I install my eSIM?

Install it on Wi-Fi before you travel, then simply enable the line and data roaming once you arrive.
